Ladies Competitions and Interclub Matches.
Throughout the year ladies compete in 5 major and 2 semi-major competitions. Many of our ladies enjoy interclub competitions playing in: The Bell Cup run by the Manchester & District Ladies Golf Association, the Liz Wilson Scratch Trophy, the Mail on Sunday and Daily Mail Foursomes competitions. Ladies also compete in the interclub Shield and Plate matches and the East Cheshire Business Ladies teams. Business ladies and friendly matches are also organised against local clubs. This arrangement gives new ladies and those with higher handicaps the opportunity to gain experience in match play.
Getting a Handicap
If you are not yet ready to compete and need to gain your handicap, many ladies are happy to help you obtain your handicap and become your mentor to ensure a smooth transition into both the golfing and social side of the club.
Ladies Social Scene
Primarily ladies join to play golf, however there is so much more to Mellor & Townscliffe Golf Club!
Social golfing events such as fun mixed competitions, away days and exchange days are held throughout the season. Each year the ladies have weekend away where up to 36 ladies join the Lady Captain for a weekend of golf, pampering, eating and maybe a little drinking. There is also a full programme of social events which range from quiz evenings to party nights.
