We are now in our 125th year of existence and I am very proud to be the Captain of the Club during this time. I was fortunate enough to be Captain back in 1997 when things were a little less high tech and arguably slower. Now we have Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and E mails all helping to speed things up relative to information transfer. Booking tee times on line has never been easier with visibility of the calendar by visitors which maximises the golf course throughout the year.
The course is probably the best it has ever been in my 30+ years as a member with improvements in machinery technology and expertise in its operation.
We have a varied programme of events throughout the year open to members and visitors with more Open competitions than we have had in the past which is a challenge to green staff and organisers.
We have been very proactive in our approach to marketing and promotion of the Club this year which has born fruit relative to an increase in membership and helps to drive the Club forward. We are the first Club locally to have a fixed subscription fee, which is £850 and locked in for 5 years and allows for easier budgeting for members.
If you are reading this and is someone who is looking to join or just visit, we have staff who are helpful and will guide you through the processes.
I hope you have a good golfing season and that you come and visit us soon.
