Gary Brown joined Mellor Golf Club as our professional in August 2022.

I am returning to the place where it all started for me at Mellor Golf Club.

I started my professional journey at Stockport Golf Club serving my apprenticeship until qualifying as a PGA Professional in 1990.

I left Stockport to take up my first post at Glossop and District Golf Club in 1990  learning my trade as a club professional.

In 1992, I had an opportunity to broaden my horizons in Germany at Golf Club Rickenach in the Black Forest, coaching German and Swiss Clients.  

Having spent 2 years in Germany I returned to Glossop for another 2 year stint before taking up residency at Buxton High Peak Golf Club  for 10 years as their club professional .

I moved on from Buxton in 2005 to focus my attention on full time Coaching at Peak Practice Golf Adlington Golf Centre and Altrincham Golf Club and in 2019 returned to Glossop before moving to Mellor in 2022.

I have built up a reputation as an accomplished and respected coach, player and club professional in the Manchester area.

I am very passionate in all aspects of my profession, be it playing tournaments in local or national events or on the range or studio helping individuals to develop and improve their swing .

I am excited to bring my wealth of knowledge, experience and professionalism to Mellor Golf Club to give the members a first class experience on all levels .
