Mellor & Townscliffe Golf Club

Dress Code

In The Clubhouse & Dining Room

As we are a club that welcomes walkers and general members of the public, our dress code in the clubhouse is less strict. However, we do ask golfers to adhere to the standards of smart casual dress, which includes:

Tailored trousers or shorts
Shirts with collar, turtle neck or T-shirts are permitted
Smart denim and trainers are permitted
Golf shoes are not permitted in the bar

Although we will not enforce a rule, we hope that golfers will have the etiquette to remove their headgear when in the clubhouse.

Mobile phones can be used in the clubhouse and carpark but should not be used on the balcony when golfers are playing or approaching the 18th green. We ask golfer to refrain from using their mobile phone during presentations.

On The Course

At Mellor, we pride ourselves on being a blend of upholding the best traditions of golf, but also of moving forwards with the ever-changing fashions of our great sport.

Because of this, we hope that our members, guests, visitors, and societies will dress appropriately both on the course and in the clubhouse.

On the course, golfers must wear:

Tailored shorts or trousers
Shirts with collar or turtle neck
Bespoke golf shoes & socks
Blue Denim, football shirts and shorts, casual shorts, cargo pants are not allowed

Mobile phones may be used on the course for emergencies, but we ask golfers to show respect for fellow players on the course.
