Mellor Golf Club

Dress Code

In The Clubhouse

As we are a modern and forward-thinking club that welcomes walkers and general members of the public, so our dress code in the clubhouse is quite relaxed.

We do ask golfers to maintain standards of smart casual dress, which includes:

  • Tailored trousers or shorts
  • Smart denim jeans (but not ripped or dirty please)
  • Smart-casual t-shirts, jumpers, shirts with a collar, golfing shirts
  • Clean trainers, shoes, sandals

Golf shoes are not permitted in the bar

Hats should be removed when in the clubhouse please, as tradition says those who wear hats buy everyone in the clubhouse a drink!

Mobile phones can be used discreetly in the clubhouse and carpark but should not be used on the balcony when golfers are playing or approaching the 18th green. We ask golfer to refrain from using their mobile phone during presentations.

On The Course

At Mellor, we pride ourselves on blending the best traditions of golf, whilst moving forwards with the ever-changing fashions of our great sport.

Because of this, we hope that our members, guests, visitors, and societies will dress appropriately both on the course and in the clubhouse.

On the course, golfers must wear:

  • Tailored shorts, trousers, golf-style skirts or dresses, Waterproof trousers can also be worn.
  • Shirts with collar, turtle necks, polos or golf-appropriate tops, gilets and base-layers
  • Bespoke golf shoes, socks must be worn

Please note; denim, football shirts and football shorts, casual shorts and cargo pants are not allowed on the course.

Mobile phones may be used on the course for emergencies, but we ask golfers to show respect for fellow players on the course by keeping your phone on silent or vibrate.
